Installation of hybrid cooling tower system and structural strengthening for an integrated iron-steel facility in Iskenderun.
The South Steel Factory project includes the comprehensive structural rehabilitation of 22-year-old existing reinforced concrete cooling towers and the integration of new hybrid cooling modules. In the first phase, carbon fiber (CFRP) reinforced strengthening and a protective coating system were applied to the reinforced concrete tower shells. In the second phase, mechanical fan modules that activate based on capacity were integrated into the existing structure as a hybrid system to optimize energy consumption. Cooling capacity increased by 35% after rehabilitation.
