Construction of 2 high-capacity hyperbolic reinforced concrete cooling towers at Cayirhan thermal power plant.
The Anatolia Thermal Power Plant project involves the construction of two hyperbolic natural draft reinforced concrete cooling towers for a large-scale coal-fired thermal power plant operating in Ankara Cayirhan. Each tower is 130 meters high and has a thermal cooling capacity of 5,000 MW. The specially shaped double-curvature hyperbolic shell geometry was optimized with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses. The project is among the largest cooling tower constructions in Turkey.
